Junior Network Technician

Day Shift, Mid Shift, Night Shift
BGC Taguig

Responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting of network infrastructure. Additionally, you will be responsible for communicating status and alerts to all relevant departments (clients and carriers) and escalate issues for further troubleshooting.

Primary Job Functions

Key Responsibilities

  • First point of contact for users via multichannel support (phone, email, ticketing system tool & communication tool)
    1. – acts as first-tier in alert responses and incident resolution
      – timely acknowledgment of request and issues, executing initial triage/information gathering activities and logging requests
      – ability to perform initial network troubleshooting LAN/Network and software issues, providing accurate, timely and creative solutions, and escalating more complex problems to senior staff
      – complete assigned tasks, ensuring delivery of services in accordance with established objectives and Service Level targets
      – complete time logs and update assigned tickets in an accurate and timely manner
  • Acts as first tier in identifying production related incidents and issues. This includes detection of system, application, or performance degradation or unavailability
  • Employs production monitoring tools to ensure that all systems & applications are running and available
  • Collaborate with other operations teams to carry out regular system, application, and hardware tasks
  • Ensures effective communication to internal customers.


  • Good understanding on different networking technologies not limited to routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP
  • Display exceptional customer service skills, with a focus on quality of service
  • Knowledge in common routing (BPG, OSPF)
  • Experience with Solarwinds or other Network Monitoring Applications
  • Experience with ticketing systems (ServiceNow) preferred
  • Fundamentals of managing Linux is preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to attend out of hours monthly meetings
  • Self-starter, focused, and motivated
  • Certifications (Good to have but not required)
    1. – CCNA
